Guide to using DraftCamera.

1. Initial Setup

1.1 Granting Permissions

When you launch the app for the first time, you will be asked for the following permissions. Please allow all:

  • Camera Access - Required to take photos
  • Microphone Access - Required to listen to voice commands
  • Speech Recognition - Required to convert speech to text
  • Photo Library Access - Required to save captured photos

2. Basic Usage

2.1 Taking Photos with Voice

  1. Launch the app
  2. When the camera view appears, point the camera at your subject
  3. Say "Cheese" or your configured voice command
  4. The photo is taken and automatically saved to your photo library
  5. You can also tap the red circle button centered at the bottom of the screen

2.2 Default Voice Commands

The following voice commands are set by default:

  • "Setting" - Open the settings screen
  • "Cheese" - Take a photo (customizable)
  • "Reset" - Return current settings to default

3. Advanced Features

3.1 Customizing Voice Commands

  1. Tap the settings icon in the upper right corner
  2. Select "Voice Command Settings"
  3. Tap the command you want to change
  4. Enter a new command and save

Tip: Set frequently used commands to words that are easy to pronounce and remember.

3.2 Preset Feature

Save frequently used functions as Presets. You can configure them via Setting > setPreset.

3.3 Checking Current Settings

Tap the screen once to show your current settings. The overlay disappears after a short time.

3.4 Default Settings

  • You can set your preferred default camera configuration.

3.5 Advanced Settings

You can assign voice commands to various camera settings. Misoperation is possible, so adjust carefully.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Voice Commands Not Recognized

Please check the following:

  • Verify microphone access is granted (Settings app → Privacy & Security → Microphone)
  • Verify speech recognition is granted (Settings app → Privacy & Security → Speech Recognition)
  • Check if surrounding noise is too loud
  • Ensure you are pronouncing clearly
  • Check device speech recognition language settings

4.2 Photos Not Saving

Please check the following:

  • Verify photo library access is granted
  • Check if device has sufficient free storage
  • Try restarting the app

4.3 Camera Not Starting

Please check the following:

  • Verify camera access is granted
  • Check if another app is using the camera
  • Try restarting the device

4.4 App Crashes

Try the following:

  • Fully close the app and restart
  • Free up device memory (close other apps)
  • Update iOS to the latest version
  • Update the app to the latest version

5. Tips and Tricks

5.1 Use in Quiet Environments

To improve speech recognition accuracy, we recommend using the app in a quiet environment whenever possible.

5.2 Utilizing Custom Commands

It's convenient to set short, easy-to-pronounce commands for frequently used features. Example: "yes" → "snap"

5.3 Resuming from Background

After moving the app to the background, your previous settings (zoom, flash, etc.) are preserved.

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Can voice commands be used offline?

A: Speech recognition uses Apple's speech recognition API, so an internet connection may be required. However, if speech recognition data has been downloaded to your device, it may work offline.

"Offline voice recognition requires English speech data to be installed on your device. Please enable English for Siri or Keyboard in Settings."

Q2: What languages are supported?

A: The current version is optimized for English.

Q3: Where are captured photos saved?

A: They are automatically saved to the iOS standard Photos app (photo library).

Q4: Does it consume a lot of battery?

A: Because it continuously uses speech recognition and camera functions, battery consumption may be slightly higher than a standard camera app. For extended use, we recommend using while charging.

Q5: Can it be used on iPad?

A: Yes, it can be used on iPads equipped with a camera and microphone.
